Bibby Marine, in collaboration with Spain's Armon shipyard, is set to construct the world's first fully electric Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (eCSOV). This groundbreaking vessel will be equipped with a 25MWh battery system, the largest of its kind in the maritime industry, and dual-fuel methanol engines to ensure operational reliability.
The eCSOV is designed to operate entirely on electric power for up to 30 days, significantly reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy efficiency. Construction is scheduled to commence in 2026, with the vessel expected to enter service in 2027, supporting the commissioning and operation of offshore wind farms.
