About Us
Kabaro App is a simple, fast, and efficient job board for Filipino seafarers.
Started as Facebook Group in 2017 as Seaman Jobs Phils, the community has grown into a website at the height of the pandemic in 2020. With growing demands from loyal seafarers to apply online and support from manning agencies, a year later, Kabaro App was reborn and retransformed into an Android and web app with a whooping 4.8 star rating.
Kabaro App is derived from the Tagalog word “kabaro” – an alias or nickname we used for Pinoy seafarers in our FB group ever since. It means a “fellow”, a “companion”, a “colleague”, or just simply “a fellow brother” or “comrade” which is often a popular term among Filipino men in uniform, police officers, soldiers, or even seafarers or seaman.↗️
Awards & Recognitions
In 2023, Kabaro App has been selected and qualified as one of the thirty-three (33) startups in the country to be empowered by the Philippine government’s DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology). It was one of the cohorts of Startup-Tailored Empowerment and People-focused Upskilling Project (STEP UP), a component under DICT’s Digital Startup Development and Acceleration Program — the government’s flagship program for the Philippine Startup Ecosystem. Kabaro App won as champion in its pitch deck presentation in WV-Region leg.

In 2024, Kabaro App was also recognized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region VI and awarded Best in Pitch in the DTI Moonshot TNK (Trabaho, Negosyo, Konsyumer) Pitching Competition held in Iloilo City. In the same year, Kabaro App was endorsed by DICT to represent its startup-supported initiatives at the annual 7th Geeks on a Beach (GOAB) event during the celebration of Philippine Startup Week in Mactan, Cebu. Kabaro App was specifically chosen to represent the Visayas region, showcasing its achievements alongside representatives from Luzon and Mindanao.
